The Inside Sales team formerly known as Direct Sales or the Customer Services team is based at the ADM UK Milling Head Office in Chelmsford, Essex. The team’s purpose is to provide an elevated level of customer service to the ADM UK Milling customer base solving any issues or queries that arise and talking to the customer about new products and promotions to keep them up to date and informed.

The Inside Sales team process on average 3,500 customer orders per month in total. Orders come through to the team via the Freephone number 08080 435687, the teams dedicated email address sales4flour@adm.com and the online ordering portal www.shop4flour.co.uk

The Inside Sales team are also the first point of contact for the wider business as there is not a main switchboard at Chelmsford, callers can call 01277 262525 and select option 1 to reach the team or listen for further options to reach other Departments based at the Chelmsford Office. ADM UK Milling offers a Diary Call Out service which some customers prefer, the Inside Sales team calls on average 60 customers each day for order capture at the customers preferred time in line with their day 1 for day 3 route day. A proportion of our customers prefer to have a regular Standing Order with us, currently we have more than 80 customers who prefer to place their orders this way.

All orders for all methods of order capture must be received by the Inside Sales team day 1 for day 3 before 2:30pm on day 1.

The Inside Sales team is one of many ADM UK Milling teams that plays a vital part in supplying your flour from the farmer who supplies us with the highest quality wheat to the driver who delivers and unloads your order.

The Inside Sales team works very closely with the Central Logistics Team based at our Corby mill, once the Inside Sales team has processed your order the order downloads into the ADM UK Milling systems and is made visible to the Central Logistics team who then plan all deliveries for all ADM UK mills, day 1 for day 3.  This is team that allocates your order to a vehicle and route from the mill that supplies your flour. If you need to place a late next day order or make an addition to an order that is already on our system for the following day this is the team that checks vehicle space and drivers’ hours to see if the day 1 for day 2 order or amendment can be actioned.

The Inside Sales team have daily contact with each Distribution Team based at each mill and with the Collections Team based at Chelmsford to ensure your order goes through our systems without issue and your order is supplied in full and in a timely manner.

The Inside Sales team works hand in hand with our field based team to make sure you get the best level of service possible, our field based colleagues, the Regional Sales Managers, are a direct link from you the customer, we process orders captured by the RSM’s, help solve queries sent through to the team and also carry out admin tasks on their behalf.  We work very closely together with all our RSM’s we have incredibly positive working relationships between both teams.

The Inside Sales team work on a rota system to provide task variety to each team member the benefit to having a multi-skilled team means we can be flexible with the rota if needed. We have a quarterly review system here meaning each team member has a regular performance review to make sure their skills are capitalised on, and they can gain experience and grow as individuals. The Inside Sales team are a resolute team and work extremely well together, they all share the same conscientious diligent mindset and are all client driven.
