More Than Accreditation: Technical Centre Uses Audit to Further Continuous Improvement Journey

Accurate and reliable testing of our raw materials and products is essential for the operation of our business. External audit and accreditation are one of the ways we ensure that our testing is fit for purpose. UK Milling’s Technical Centre laboratory at Avonmouth was recently audited by Campden Laboratory Accreditation Service, the UK’s leading independent food industry provider.

The Technical Centre lab serves the UK business, and also acts as the intake lab for Avonmouth mill. Working toward ISO17025:2017 accreditation, the CLAS auditor reported no major or minor non-conformances, and made several helpful recommendations to assist with the lab’s own Continuous Improvement programme. Accreditation was renewed on the day of the audit.

Led by Ola Staruzyk, Technical Centre manager, and Jonathan Pears, technical proficiency manager, the lab and bakery team of Alexander Okuovara, Ardyll Virtudazo, Montse Ramos and Mary Tranter impressed the auditor with their knowledge and enthusiasm. This is a great example of the dedication of our people to our business. Well done, team!
