On May 10th and 11th, 2024, Team ADM had the privilege of attending the Scottish Bakers Annual Conference & Awards. This significant event brought together industry leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts to discuss the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the baking and flour milling industry. We were proud to host an exhibition stand at the conference, where we were excited to share information about our new Regeneratively Sourced Baker’s Bread Flour.

We greatly appreciated the opportunity to introduce our new ADM Regenerative Sourcing Program to the Scottish Bakers members and were encouraged with the level of engagement and curiosity levelled around the whole subject of global food security & sustainability. There certainly appears to be a desire from the industry to debate the topic further as most expressed a real need for change but questioned how best to achieve a robust and economical supply chain.
It was particularly pleasing to see “The Bread Guy” win this year’s top award of “Scottish Baker of the Year 2024/5” – this craft bakery business with 5 retail units uses a range of ADM flours supplied through our Scottish based wholesale partner, Fleming Howden. Another highlight of the evening was the award for “Bayne’s the Family Baker” – “Customer Choice Winners for the Retail Craft Baker” category. Baynes has a 66-unit retail estate across the Scottish Central Belt and have been consistently investing & expanding their retail operation with plans in place to open a further 4 units by the end of 2024. I’m delighted to announce that ADM has secured the contract to provide 100% of their flour supply from July 2024!
